Abstract
This article describes water-resource management by the Aburrá Valley Metropolitan Area, with emphasis on retributive fees for wastewater discharge. It presents the process of negotiating pollution-reduction targets with the residential and industrial sectors, reporting a sustained decrease associated with the San Fernando Plant, and describes the Regional Fund for Investment in Water Decontamination.
