Archaeological Resources and Antioquia Central Park: A New School of Archaeology and the Medellín City Museum — A Proposal for Life

Abstract

The results of the author's archaeological research and other ongoing studies, framed within the Amerindia Project in partnership with various public and private institutions, make it possible to propose territorial development approaches based on the archaeological resources present in the territories and landscapes within the jurisdiction of the Central Antioquia Park. Likewise, in the course of professional practice and within the historical and conceptual development of the archaeological discipline, the need arises to establish a new school of archaeology and an archaeological museum for the city of Medellín and for the country. In this way, public policies are combined effectively and efficiently to solve problems and meet community needs, while guaranteeing the socio-environmental sustainability of the territory and strengthening identity.
