Abstract
The constant demand for land to produce and use Ecosystem Services, driven by population growth and resource consumption, leads to forest loss and biodiversity decline. With the aim of determining the possible future of forests and biodiversity in the department of Antioquia (Colombia), this article analyzes the variables that place pressure on ecosystems and their relationship to conservation strategies through protected areas.
