The Central Antioquia Park Regional System of Protected Areas (SIRAP-PCA)

Abstract

Written by the director of Fundación Con Vida and the then-Director of the DAMA of the Antioquia Governor's Office, this article presents the Central Antioquia Park Regional System of Protected Areas (SIRAP-PCA), an inter-institutional strategy led by the Antioquia Governor's Office together with several entities, aimed at coordinating existing protected areas around the center of the department. The authors describe the project's area of influence across 37 municipalities organized into eleven geographic nodes, and present the problem and objective trees developed through the Logical Framework methodology. The text details fourteen programs and subprograms of the SIRAP-PCA Plan and thirteen specific goals, concluding with an invitation to territorial entities to incorporate the PCA's plans into their land-use planning instruments.
