Abstract

Environmental heritage is the most important wealth associated with society, as it is the foundation of life. Based on this premise, Corantioquia formulated its Action Plan with the participation of various stakeholders within its jurisdiction, including communities, economic sectors, and municipal administrations, in order to find solutions to environmental problems grounded in the social, political, economic, and environmental context. Through programs and projects, it directs its work toward environmental land-use planning and the comprehensive administration of environmental heritage, involving biodiversity and water resource management along with urban environmental management focused on waste handling, air quality, and responsible consumption and production models. In the global context, Corantioquia cannot overlook risk management and climate change. These initiatives will be underpinned by building a responsible environmental culture to strengthen society's commitment to protecting the environment. To support this work, the Corporation will rely on communication and knowledge-integration strategies as well as institutional strengthening strategies.
