Abstract
In a world whose sustainability is severely threatened, Colombia shows dizzying levels of urbanization and urban pollution. With growing numbers of people living in cities, the challenges of urban sustainability grow accordingly. The dangers of poor urban planning, wealth generation without equity, and the lack of protection of our natural resources hint at an unprecedented potential urban chaos, which perhaps can only be prevented through public policy. A young citizen group set out to engage local political actors in sustainable territorial development, starting from the recognition of citizens' own responsibility to participate actively in the debate with academic arguments.
