Abstract
Written by an environmental manager from CORANTIOQUIA's Natural Resources Deputy Directorate, this article presents the Corporation's Integrated Solid Waste Management strategy for formulating municipal Integrated Solid Waste Management Plans, mandatory as of October 2005. The author describes three inter-institutional agreements developed for this purpose: one with the MAVDT, UNICEF, SENA, and Antioquia's regional autonomous corporations to support 30 municipalities; another with the Aburrá Valley Metropolitan Area and the Universidad de Antioquia to formulate the regional PGIRS; and another with SENA to provide technical assistance to 70 municipalities within the Corporation's jurisdiction.
