Abstract

This article presents a comprehensive technical description of aerobic composting, explaining how microorganisms transform biodegradable organic matter into a fertilizer that improves soil's physical, chemical, and biological properties. The author details usable raw materials and the technical factors governing the process: optimal temperature, moisture, balanced carbon-nitrogen ratio, pH, and aeration, describing the process's four phases: mesophilic, thermophilic, cooling, and maturation. The text offers a practical guide for building compost piles and an operational manual for compost bins, including concrete steps for producing compost and hygiene and safety measures for workers.
