Abstract
Written by a professor with a master's degree in teaching, this article analyzes the causes of food and nutritional insecurity in rural educational settings in Antioquia, noting factors such as low education levels, rigid curricula, and weak links between the school community and these issues. The author proposes curricular integration as a pedagogical strategy to address food security as a cross-cutting subject across knowledge areas, presenting the intellectual, pedagogical, and social arguments supporting this approach and highlighting the experience of the Escuela Nueva methodology in the department's rural areas. The text describes how these strategies connect with Antioquia's Food and Nutrition Improvement Plan (MANA).
