Abstract

This article reviews Colombia's regulatory framework for natural-resource protection and analyzes its application in Medellín, which has 19,944 hectares declared as strategic ecosystems. It notes the lack of updated information and describes a project valuing environmental services across five microwatersheds that supply rural aqueducts, benefiting around 20,000 people.
