Abstract
The situation of forests within Cornare's jurisdiction is similar to that found elsewhere in the country regarding the problem of endangered species and ecosystems and the deforestation rate caused by megaproject construction and the expansion of the agricultural and livestock frontier. In response to this reality, the Corporation employs a wide range of strategies to promote the protection of the region's forest ecosystems: CDM and REDD mechanisms, forest management projects, work with the protected areas system, restoration of at-risk species, and reforestation, among others.
