Abstract

As a representative of ISA, the author presents the preventive work this company carries out to reduce the environmental impact caused by forest fragmentation resulting from its linear infrastructure projects — telecommunications, energy, gas, and roads — for which it develops socio-environmental management of the surrounding environment (biodiversity, support for climate change management, social issues, and environmental management through compensation) and environmental management of the asset itself (right-of-way towers, areas of direct influence, and corridors). The article emphasizes the first of these areas, showing how forest compensation projects aimed at ecosystem protection can be an effective and efficient tool for supporting conservation and biodiversity objectives.
