Abstract
Since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution, human activities have caused a significant increase in the concentration of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere, driving climate change. This article examines the global picture and proposes charging a fee for environmental damage as a solution, a mechanism already contemplated in the Colombian Constitution and current regulations. The funds collected through this fee could be used to mitigate the effects of pollution at both the local and global levels.
