Abstract

This document presents the letter sent by Alonso Salazar Jaramillo, candidate for Mayor of Medellín 2008-2011, to the Association of Socio-Environmental Organizations of Colombia, ratifying the environmental commitments of his governance program "Toward a Green Medellín." The author presents a list of specific proposals, including the Jorge Molina Moreno Massive Tree Planting and Care Plan (140,000 native trees), completion of the linear biotic parks program along creeks, strengthening of the Master Plan for Urban Green Public Spaces, and a commitment to consolidating the Central Antioquia Park. The text further details commitments on solid waste, comprehensive water management, and reducing air pollution.
