Proposal for an Environmental North for the Aburrá Valley (NAVA)

Abstract

Prepared by the Antioquia Chapter of the Environmental Activists Movement, this article presents the proposal for an Environmental North for the Aburrá Valley (NAVA), aimed at coordinating a social mobilization project around poor air quality, largely attributed to diesel supplied by Ecopetrol. The authors argue that the current institutional framework, based on goodwill agreements, has not produced meaningful results, and propose forming a group of independent professionals capable of grounding critical debate against official narratives. The text proposes actions such as discussion roundtables and participation in institutional events to monitor environmental commitments.
