Abstract

Written by a forestry engineer, Environmental Deputy Director of the Aburrá Valley Metropolitan Area, this article presents a summarized version of the research project "Synergies to Boost Sustainable Development at the Local Scale," launched in 2004 by energy-sector companies in coordination with the Antioquia Governor's Office and the Universidad Nacional. The author presents a three-level methodology for strengthening partnerships among public and private institutions and communities, grounded in Corporate Social Responsibility, and develops a case study in the Nordeste and Magdalena Medio subregions of Antioquia, characterized by high rates of unmet basic needs. The text describes the methodology for identifying shared objectives and selecting appropriate institutional operators.
