Abstract
This article philosophically analyzes the relationship between Western thought and discarded objects, examining Plato's and Aristotle's views on matter. Drawing on philosopher François Dagognet, it presents a classification of objecthood and develops three pathways for revaluing waste: industrial recycling, the aesthetics of contemporary art, and the informal micro-economy of object recovery in Medellín.
