Abstract

This article describes non-Krebs-cycle bacteria, chemolithotrophic microorganisms that obtain energy from minerals, characterizing their acidophilic, non-pathogenic properties. The authors document an experimental application of these bacteria in treating organic waste at a residential complex in Medellín, producing a solid soil amendment.
