Abstract
Written by the then-mayor, this article presents the history of Angelópolis since its founding in 1887 and describes its mining-based economy. It highlights the municipality's relationship with the Alto El Romeral Reserve and the Angelópolis-Caldas Park Road. The author recounts the municipal acquisition in 2003 of the Hacienda La Clara, previously linked to drug trafficking, as an opportunity for ecotourism and regional recovery.
