Abstract
This article analyzes the historical importance of the ancient road network associated with the El Romeral Reserve as a trade route between the Aburrá and Cauca River valleys since pre-Hispanic times. Based on archaeological evidence, the author describes the main trails and reports findings dating occupation of the territory back at least 2,500 years. The text proposes incorporating this road network into management plans aimed at ecological and cultural tourism.
