Abstract
This article characterizes the diversity of ferns found in the Alto El Romeral Reserve and the Angelópolis-Caldas Park Road, identifying approximately 120 species. It describes ferns' ecological functions and traditional uses. The authors propose declaring the reserve the country's first Fern Sanctuary, aimed at conserving vulnerable species and promoting their sustainable use through ecotourism.
