Abstract
This article presents the results of an agreement between the Municipality of Medellín and CEHAP for formulating Corregimiento Strategic Plans, focusing on the Western Regional Park megaproject. The study identifies a concerning scenario of uncontrolled urbanization on the western edge of the municipality. It describes five complementary megaprojects for Medellín's rural areas, and characterizes the Aburrá Valley's western biological corridor, which includes the El Romeral Reserve and other specially managed areas, highlighting its hydroclimatic and biodiversity importance.
