Are Bees Going Extinct?

Abstract

Through the commercialization of products such as honey, pollen, propolis, royal jelly, wax, and bee venom, people generate income from bees. Bees are crucial for human food security, as they contribute to the pollination of various crops. In other words, without these insect species, life on Earth would be severely limited. The purpose of this article is to present a strategy (already underway) for establishing domestic Apis mellifera beehives in peri-urban rural areas of the department of Antioquia. This strategy seeks to help train guardians dedicated to bee conservation, considered by numerous institutions to be one of the most important insect groups for the continuation of Life on the Planet.
