Environmental Soil Diagnosis Based on Impacts Generated by Agricultural Land Use in the Piedemonte Llanero Region, Department of Meta, Municipality of Villavicencio, District No. 6

Abstract

This document presents an Environmental Diagnosis of Soil Resources in District No. 6 of Villavicencio, Meta, aiming to highlight certain practices related to the management of agricultural activities in this area, in order to determine, through the analysis of quality parameters, the current state of the resource in an environmentally important territory such as the Piedemonte Llanero. Through the characterization of activities on 14 properties in the Puente Abadía and San José Bajo villages, land-use dynamics were identified across environmental, social, and economic components, finding conventional use on most of the properties surveyed, and organic production on some. This raises the prospect of changing practices toward appropriate land use within the framework of sustainable development, in line with the provisions of the recently adopted Land-Use Plan for the municipality of Villavicencio.
