escrito por un geólogo candidato a PhD de la Universidad de Florida y un ingeniero agrónomo, analiza la erosión del suelo como fenómeno geomorfológico natural intensificado por la acción humana. Los autores presentan hallazgos de termocronología aplicados al Macizo Central Antioqueño, según los cuales la erosión moderna podría ser tres órdenes de magnitud mayor que la erosión promedio geológica del Neógeno, y citan estimaciones según las cuales la humanidad moviliza anualmente unas 50 gigatoneladas de tierra, frente a las 14 gigatoneladas que movilizan los ríos del mundo. El texto contextualiza la problemática de los Andes colombianos, donde los ríos Magdalena y Cauca presentan cargas de sedimentos comparables a las del Ganges, y concluye con un llamado a incorporar la etnoecología en los currículos académicos, señalando la existencia de antrosoles como la terra preta amazónica.
